I have even heard that OneNote is better optimized on the iPad than for a Window's tablet, and that the file management system I use for my research papers (Mendeley) works great on the iPad as well However, it is expensive and I feel like it might be too excessive for just taking notes Additionally, some of the most favorited features on this device I will most likely not need or use. On the other hand, the iPad seems to have better options in terms of notetaking (which of course is what I will mostly use this tablet for). This is also the cheaper option however, I am limited on the note-taking apps at hand and I am not particularly attached to OneNote, nor do I care for using the OneDrive cloud as I hope to use Dropbox or Google Drive to sync everything. If I need something on my home machine, I can also set it up to SSH into it. I do not plan to use it as a laptop much at school, but I can see this being really awesome for going to conferences and traveling. ![]() On one hand, I like the Surface because it can double as a laptop. I have narrowed down my choices between the Surface Go 2 and the iPad air 2020 model, but I cannot decide between the two. This will not replace my laptop, but act as a digital notebook for homework, research, and annotating PDFs (as a side note, I am allowed to use a digital notebook in research). I am a graduate student looking to buy a tablet to use as a digital notebook. ![]()
